It’s officially the midpoint of the year. Typically, I spend a lot of time reflecting on the following question at this time of year “Am I where I’d hoped to be?” The answer this year is “No.” I’m not. I’ve mentioned this in a couple of other posts-that this year has been harder than I ever could have anticipated. Sometimes life is like that. Last week I decided to go on a retreat into the mountains. For my mental health I needed to relax and spend some time in nature. I’m so glad that I took that break. I left with the following lessons and food for thought.

How to Make Adjustments
(For the rest of the year)
Pay attention to how you’re feeling-I’m still feeling really sad about my grandma, fascism is tiring on a daily basis and I just feel like the first 6 months of the year have also been hectic in a way that I couldn’t have anticipated.
Focus on Self-Care-I’m setting some really firm and tough boundaries in 2025. Here are some self-care strategies that I’m engaged in currently.
Retreats don’t have to be expensive-I just spent 2 days and 1 night in the mountains last week and I spent
$24 Bus (roundtrip)
$48-Micro Room at The Block
$20 Lunch
$15 Lunch
$20 coffee/misc
Total: $127
I could have just gone up for the day and NOT spent the night.
$24 bus
$15 lunch
$12 coffee
$51
Audit the Practical Stuff-It’s time to get down to business. Ask yourself the following questions:
What is your community reacting to and excited by? Are you actually talking to your community members?
Are you clear about what you could help your audience with?
What is your suite of products? Do you have a suite of products and offerings?
Is it clear what people could be buying from you?
Are you designing content that highlights your products/goods and services?

So sorry about your grandma friend. I know how painful that is. Sending big hugs your way 🥰
Loved seeing your mini retreat cost breakdown! I'm hoping to go on one end of summer to regroup!
