Last weekend I went camping at Great Sand Dunes National Park. These are the largest sand dunes in the United States. I went with an incredible organization/group called “Vibe Tribe” focused on bringing BIPOC and Allied friends into the outdoors. The trip was fantastic despite the fact that I drove down in an EV (electric vehicle). On the second day of the camping trip the weather was…aggressive. Fifty mile per hour winds, rain and lightening, hours of perfect weather in-between and then it snowed overnight on high peaks of the mountains that frame the Dunes.
Why am I sharing this with you?
Halfway through that crazy weather day there was a point when people bailed. They were like “Nope, this isn’t for me and I’m good.” Building a business has those moments where you recognize that things aren’t working, might need a break or it’s time to dig deep to get the results that you are wanting.

Q4 is Here
I literally can’t believe that it’s now October and still unreasonably hot for this time of year. It’s Q4 and time to revisit our monetization goals. This is the time to get out of our way and dig deep. What does that look like?
Deciding to stop pursuing a certain area of focus or monetization.
Doubling down on an income stream that has been a lot more “effortless” than you would have expected.
Changing your process or product
It’s up to you and honestly-there’s no wrong decision. Last year I decided to take almost a year off of traveling and attending events. I was tired of having to show up and be “on” in the way that you have to when you’re sharing your business and brand.
Focused on the Quiet Work
I’m sometimes amazed by the growth of Creators Getting Paid during the past year when I just stayed at my house.

Connecting with my audience
Refining my offerings
Showing up consistently
And then there was all of the A/B testing that I had to do to figure out what is and isn’t working within my business. This can be a humbling process.
