It might surprise you that I still work a fun side-hustle. I love my side-hustle so much because it pays me to do stuff that I would pay to do. It’s unlikely that I’ll give it up anytime soon. Last night we worked an event that I was very interested in attending…because I’m a podcaster. Alex Cooper’s of the hit podcast “Call Her Daddy” started the first leg of her 2024 Unwell (West) Tour in Denver. It’s a 7 city tour taking place in the western part of the United States.
I’m not her audience, I haven’t listened to her show and when I tell you that I had a great time-I’m just as surprised as you are. Why have I decided to share what worked, what didn’t and why this experience was so timely for me? Because creators designing and setting up their own tours has been a recent conversation that I’ve been following and had even made the decision to set my own mini-tour up a week before attending this event.
Why?
Because of Rachel Rogers.
If you’re unfamiliar with Rachel Rogers she’s a well-known entrepreneur, author and all around badass who hosts the Hello 7 podcast. In a recent episode entitled “Touring Isn’t Just for Pop Icons: How Entrepreneurs Can Cash In” Rachel talked about how she designed her own impactful tours to promote her books and business. She broke down how WE could do the same.
In the episode Rachel covered:
Tour design
How to earn back your investment
The purpose of a well thought-out tour
And the impact on your brand when connecting and meeting with your community in person. It was a very compelling episode and had me inspired and fired up. Then I thought to myself…what would my tour potentially look like?
Then I attended Alex’s Unwell Tour
I’m sharing with the Money Sprouts Community a breakdown of the following:
A breakdown of the overall experience
What worked
What didn’t
How many people attended the event (generally)
The different ways I observed Alex monetizing the experience
Social media usage
And a few other things that I think would be of interest. I’m keeping all of these things in mind as I began designing my own (mini) tour for 2025.
By the way, earlier this week I asked the following question “What Will Actually Motivate You?” Maybe creating and designing a unique to you event could be something that changes your brand, the work that you’re doing, who and how you serve. Maybe this is “the thing” to motivate you?

Alex Cooper’s Unwell West Tour
A Creator Tour Case Study
Let’s be clear, I’d heard of Alex Cooper-I’d just never listened to her show. During the course of the experience I discovered that she talks about sexual empowerment, female empowerment and having a good time while becoming whoever we are meant to be.
