In my previous professional life I had to be available to hundreds of people as part of my role. While I adored the community that I served-adult international students from various walks of life studying English as a Second Language. Some were studying as a way to improve their language skills for work, enlisted military, rich individuals escaping countries in the state of deterioration and people taking a break from “regular” life.
It was amazing.
And I'd walked in their shoes. I’d studied abroad in Paris, Buenos Aires and Amiens (France). I’d relied on staff members to help make my experiences abroad easier. So when I began seriously monetizing my online brand-coaching high end coaching in particular was absolutely of interest.
I didn’t enjoy it.
Let me tell you, I was surprised by my dislike of high end coaching being a part of building my brand. It just felt…wrong.
A core value of my brand is accessibility. It doesn’t mean that I’m cheap or that I won’t charge community members for a service-I absolutely would and will. But, I found high end coaching to be out of alignment with the brand that I’m building. There were some obvious reasons why.
What About Low-Ticket Offerings?
Low-ticket offerings such as printables, ebooks, and low-ticket memberships are just as important in an online business. But today I’m reflecting on high ticket offerings. I’ll share my thoughts about low-ticket offerings sometime soon.
Listen to the Podcast Episode
This episode is a reflection of how I feel about high ticket offerings. It is different from what I share in today’s newsletter. I hope you enjoy the episode after you read through the post.

High End Coaching Dislikes
Before I share my dislikes, it’s important for me to share that I’ve been a high end coaching client and had a great experience. Despite that great experience…I found myself constantly feeling a sense of unease around the idea of high ticket coaching. After several years I was able to articulate why.
Having to be available in a way that seemed to be the opposite of the lifestyle design that I’d envisioned for myself. Hardly a surprise after having to be so available for so many people for so many years.
I didn’t want to do the following:
Be on a Slack Channel
Be available to clients when I wanted to go hiking/snowboarding or hanging out with friends and family
Be responsible for someone else’s transformation at that price point. If I’m charging the big bucks-I needed to make sure that my clients were getting results.
The Pricing-I 100% know that I’m worth what I charge and I 100% believe that there are folks who can afford my rates. BUT, it’s my view that high end coaching makes more sense for content creators who are the high intermediate/advanced level and making money. Making this purchase wouldn’t harm their finances. In my observation of high end coaching language it just felt like newer content creators got swept up into this idea to “invest in themselves” in a way that might not pay off. I didn’t want to be in people’s wallets, I also didn’t want to create an environment within my business and branding where it felt like the only way to work with me was with high ticket coaching. That’s why I have tiered pricing.
Conversion Tactics-If you’re charging people thousands of dollars-you have to sell in a completely different way than with lower ticket products. I just wasn’t a fan of the constant “invest in yourself” conversation. Many people invested in their college education and look how that turned out.
There was one big problem and I realized this around the time that I realized that I disliked high end coaching. The truth is the following….
Your Biz Needs a High Ticket Offering
A high ticket offering takes so much pressure off of your business. You can move differently as you build out your brand. In fact, having a couple of high ticket offerings will give you the space to grow and scale income streams such as: affiliate earnings, book sales, printables/digital products, workshops or courses.
You Don’t Have to Offer High Ticket Coaching
With that in mind, I thought I would share 14 high ticket offerings that you might not know about or hadn’t considered adding as a business opportunity.
15 High Ticket Offerings
Get inspired and think about the offerings that are a good fit for your personality. I’ve shared both collaborative offerings as well as a sprinkling of “Done for You” services.
Consulting
I LOVE CONSULTING!!! Yes, that’s all caps. A consultant is paid to share their expertise. Consultants are brought in to guide an organization, person or community as they work to implement the type of expertise the consultant is sharing. Here are some examples below:
Working with an organization to develop a podcast series. That series could have certain deliverables that the consultant would guide the client on how to strategize and achieve those deliverables. Deliverables could include:
Sign ups for a service
Build and grow awareness of the organization.
Expand mission advocacy
Consultants can help and organization with designing and building out a brand strategy.
Brand Partnerships
Ok. I love brand partnerships so much! A brand partnership is literally when an individual works with a brand to deliver a certain type of campaign. I’ll share a few examples below-you might not like the first one LOL!
Nike and Michael Jordan-This partnership is one of the best in history (in my personal view) this partnership was so well done that for more years that I thought possible Michael Jordan and the Nike brand were synonymous.
Cardi B (Whip Shots) and Door Dash-I just saw this today. She’s making pumpkin flavor Whip Shots! Whips shots are canned whip cream infused with liquor.
Kim Kardashian has a shape wear business called “Skims” The products in this brand are typically in a range of nude colors (as humans show up). Color me surprised (pun intended) when I saw Kim wearing Beats headphones in nude shades. She is currently partnering with Beats in a Skims/Beats brand partnership. It’s actually a really cohesive concept. I do wonder how that conversation came up.
Ryan Reynolds and Mint Mobile phone service-I have a Mint Mobile phone LOL! I was fascinated by how Ryan has worked with, and invested in, business partnerships.
Sponsorships
Ok. I’ll say it one more time “I LOVE SPONSORSHIPS!” These function differently from a brand partnership because the funding entity is funding a scope of work that you’re working on or have created. In my experience with sponsorships if someone reaches out to you-they typically have an idea of you and the audience that their sponsorship would be in front of.
Podcast sponsorships-A company pays for a series of episodes or a specially recorded season that is a good match for their product.
An organization works in tandem with a YouTuber who is producing a series of videos about a topic that is aligned with their mission.
