Hi Wonderful Humans,
It’s almost summer and this is the time that I like to review what’s working and what isn’t behind the scenes of Creators Getting Paid.

What’s Working
The systems that I have in place to connect with amazing creators who would be served by the Creators Getting Paid Community and ethos are working. I love learning about the work, communities and spaces that everyone is curating.
Cadence-I enjoy sharing at least one thoughtful post a week with the community that almost always is released sometime on Tuesdays.
“Shh, We’re Talking” This is the livestream show that I co-host with two amazing community builders and content creators: Corey Gumbs founder of The Black Podcasters Association and Angela Hollowell founder of Please Hustle Responsibly and Melanin MVP
Creator Conversations (Are BACK!)-I am so excited about the conversations that are recorded and ready to be shared with the community.
What’s Not Working
(Communication)
For awhile now I’ve felt like I needed to communicate better with the Creators Getting Paid community. I feel like details on workshops, co-working hours, podcast episodes are getting lost a little in the community focused content. With that in mind I’ll be sending out a newsletter on Thursdays. I’ve done this before but I thought it would be helpful to created a branded experience.
Are You Paid Yet?
(That’s the Name of the Newsletter)
Is the Creators Getting Paid Newsletter and you’ll begin receiving it on Thursdays. I will share the following in it:
A link to the regular Tuesday newsletter
Creators Getting Paid community details
Podcast episodes
Creator Industry information
My hope is that the “Air You Paid Yet” weekly communication will make it easier for everyone to know what’s going on “in real time” vs. having to remember what’s happening when. In the past I’ve sent up to 1-3 emails a week so you won’t notice a difference.
Why am I telling you this?
So that you know what is going on LOL!
Because the newsletter will have a slightly different feel to it than the Creators Getting Paid community tool that is hosted on the Substack platform.
I’ll be using a different tool to send the Thursday communication to you. What tool-I’ll be using Beehiiv
Why Am I Using Beehiiv
I love the Substack platform and think it’s wonderful for hosting the Creators Getting Paid community. However, I’m concerned about protecting access to this community in the event of a tech issue, changes in company philosophy and random acts of weirdness that could impact my ability to communicate with you.
I don’t want all of my eggs in one basket.
I plan on recording a podcast episode breaking down what the differences are in the two tools-hopefully that will be helpful for those of you wondering about the use cases for each one. I don’t want to violate Beehiiv’s Terms of Service and do want to make sure you know why Thursday’s messages will look a little different.
Have a beautiful weekend,
Michelle
