I’m not saying that you should have all of these things done today. The goal is to work towards having these different tools and components to building a healthy brand done.
Story Vault
It may surprise you that one of the things that I have the hardest time with is sharing stories…on the fly. The problem with this is that story drives our online businesses. Sit down and think of all of the stories connected with building your business. Your success, lessons learned, failures and more. Add stories about how you helped your community members, how you lost money, made money, etc. Every quarter add to your Story Vault. This will make it easier to write engaging content and share who you are and what you do within the context of your brand.
Brand Tagline
One of the most challenging things I’ve been working on is a simple tagline for Creators Getting Paid. Something that communicates:
Mission
Purpose
Focus
Values
It feels like it should be simple, but it takes awhile to get it right. I keep working on this because I want to have a simple tagline when a 30 Second Elevator Pitch isn’t needed or makes since in the moment.

30 Second Elevator Pitch
I finally, finally have a 30 Second Elevator Pitch. It has taken me forever to create one that I really like and flows smoothly when I share it. An elevator pitch basically is how you communicate who you are, what you do and who you serve in a short amount of time. Here’s what I landed on:
My Elevator Pitch
Creators Getting Paid helps Black, Brown and Allied Content Creators who’re creating spaces, services and communities that otherwise wouldn’t exist strategize how to earn money with their work.
This is done through sharing case studies, conversations and tools developed by other creators who are earning money serving similar communities.
