I’ve noticed that there are a lot of us who are juggling multiple online projects. Since Creators Getting Paid is a resource designed to help creators serve their communities while attracting income to their work-it’s important to address how being a multi-passionate creator influences monetization focus and strategy. Before I get to the heart of this edition of the newsletter, I have a question for you…
Are You Looking for Podcast Guests?
Do you think that I would be a good fit as a guest on your podcast? Do you talk about one of the following topics: building an online brand/content creation or anything to do with personal finances? I would love to be a guest on your show. Feel free to comment to this post or email me at: thebrandbuildinglab@gmail.com
Do You Have Multiple Online Projects?
I’m finally fully into the swing of things as it relates to what I’ve decided to focus on within my business. While I’ve released podcasts for years, it has only been in the past couple of years that I’ve spent time truly thinking about what role my podcasts will play within the eco-system of my brand(s).
As a multi-passionate content creator I’ve found it challenging to fight the urge to explore and add different projects to work on within my brand. That’s how I ended up with four, yes four, different brands that are at different stages of growth.
I’ve discovered that I’m not the person who has done this to themselves and I thought it might be helpful to share how I am still able to enjoy the different podcasts that I’ve built out and how I still continue to release content throughout the years.
Well Known Online Content Creators with Multiple Brands
It’s not just you! There are a number of well-known content creators who have built out or are actively building out multiple brands that are in different niches.
Pat Flynn founder of Smart Passive income is the host of at least 2 podcast that I know of in the online business space and has built a wildly successful brand around Pokemon.
Jannese Torres founder of Yo Quiero Dinero has 3 different brands that she has built. She has a food blog focused on celebrating Puerto Rican food, a person finance brand and I think she’s currently launching a new brand focused on dating and relationships.
Ryan Grey (who I know) hosts SIX podcasts specific to the different stages of becoming a doctor. They are their own separate brands.
There are also creatives such as Beyoncé, Ryan Reynolds and Arnold Schwarzenegger (he has a lot of real estate holdings, etc.) who have moved beyond their original careers as musicians or actors.
It is possible to successfully grow multiple projects. But in order to have a successful outcome with your different projects there’s some hard truths that we need to discuss.

Resource Shoutout: Descript
Podcasting can be a lot of work. Making sure your show notes are done, editing the content and getting all of the marketing materials together. Maybe you’re not ready to hire a human virtual assistant (VA) but are looking for a digital one? DESCRIPT may be the tool for you. I was very fortunate to sit in during a live demo of DESCRIPT and I left with my mind blown. In fact, I loved it so much that I’m going to reach out to the team and see if they’re open to showing the Creators Getting Paid Community how to use it. If you’re looking for a cool AI tool that can help you speed up your podcasting workflow-consider checking out DESCRIPT.
Why Have Multiple Brands?
There are some really compelling reasons why you may want to build and grow multiple online brands. This doesn’t mean that you’re monetizing all of your interests.
You have more than one interest that you would like to explore and would like to create a portfolio or space for that interest.
Having multiple projects in different niches could balance out the risks of being positioned in just one space. For example-interest in personal finance related content drops during the summer because people are focusing on summer fun.
It was too hard to focus on one thing so you moved forward with…everything LOL!
Wanting to test which niche “takes off”
Leaning into building a different skillset that is better suited to grow on a different platform or in a different niche.
There are some very valid and important reasons why you would focus and grow more than one platform. So it pains me to tell you this, when you decide to make money with one (or all) of your projects-you’ll need to reassess everything that you’ve been doing in order to actually make money with your work.
You Have More than One Project
And are flirting with adding one more to your world
I totally understand why you’ve decided to launch a new website focused on a different area of interest or build a community that you would like to serve. Or, you’ve recently added a new TikTok profile where you share your favorite places to eat around town.
There Are Fewer Gatekeepers
Between you and the possibility of sharing your interests with the world in the way that you imagine. If you have an interest that you would like to explore, share and connect with a community of likeminded enthusiasts-no one can tell you “no” anymore (for the most part).
And for those of us who have felt “unseen” it’s an incredible feeling to finally be seen, be able to share what’s important to us and potentially make money at the same time.
But, this is “Creators Getting Paid” a newsletter focused on helping connect online content creators with monetization ideas and strategies. Working on multiple projects at the same time will impact how quickly you reach your monetization goals. And it’s important to point out that shifting from a 100% creative focused to monetization goals changes how you show up online with your projects.
Split focus before having created consistent successful results with one of your projects will create split results with your other projects.
Your project workflow is so important.
Content publication Cadence vs. Calendar-are you sharing content with a certain cadence or are you publishing content on a schedule.
Do you batch content so that you can stay ahead of your publishing schedule? And I’m referencing publishing on any platform: social media/website/podcast or YouTube
Do you have an editorial calendar and goals connected to the content that you’re putting out.
Content design is key
Are you creating content with longevity in mind and balancing it out with content related to current conversations being held in the space that you’re building your brand in?
And have you designed SOPs (standard operation procedures) when you’ve identified areas of success and the tasks that helped you reach that success.

If you’re looking for a Mastermind/Membership community that will help you meet your online business goals, I’m launching a new resource in March. Keep an eye out for the details in upcoming content.
