One of my favorite pieces of content to curate for this newsletter are creator interviews where we talk about the complexities of growing an online brand. I’ve recorded several and today I’m sharing the first creator conversation that I had with Avidan Smith. This is part of the benefits/bonuses that paying subscribers receive in addition to paid subscriber only workshops, product discounts and behind the scenes takes on different topics covered by the newsletter. Sign up today-it’s just $5 a month which is the equivalent of one cup of bougie tea or coffee.

Descript
Podcasters, I am a slow adaptor to new technology and digital tools. Usually I like to take my time because of pricing, wanting to see if the early hype is just hype and to learn from other people’s experiences. I had the opportunity to sit in a workshop that walked through how Descript can help creators create using AI. What I LOVE about Descript, besides the fact that it makes content creation easier-while Descript does train AI…but only with the content that you submit to the tool (consent).
What does it mean?
That currently your IP (intellectual property) is more secure. Descript is trained only on what you share with it. The team was so helpful and I truly enjoyed learning about this cool tool. If you’re looking for an AI tool to use, but are nervous about IP like I am then Descript might be a good fit for your podcasting needs.
Creator Conversation with Avidan Smith
One of my favorite things to do is to speak with other creators building online brands. I’ve had a ton of fun recording these conversations so keep an eye out for them. I will normally share them a couple of times a month and I’m thinking usually on a Friday or Saturday (this is not set in stone)
Avidan Smith recently was a guest on one of my podcasts where we talked about Taylor Swift and how her re-recording her masters could influence and change contracts for other artists.
But in the conversation that I share below we’re talking all things building a brand. Things he’s learned, experiences and lessons that now shape how he runs his business. The conversation is a fun look at the behind the scenes building of a brand and some of the challenges that impact business growth.
